Resident Activities and Programs

Transportation



The Morristown Housing Authority van is available to residents for transportation Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Residents must call to make reservations one day in advance. Seating is limited and restricted to two different locations per day. Residents may not use the van for work or school.


Reach for Your Dream

Residents are encouraged to get their GED or go to college. MHA will pay the GED testing fee. Scholarships are also available for residents to further their education.

File of Life

A program for senior or disabled residents where a free Emergency Medical form is completed and placed in the home in case of an emergency.

Buddy Up

Senior and disabled residents can sign up for a buddy and then place a phone call daily to check on their buddy. If contact cannot be made, the Resident Activities staff is check on the resident.

UT Mobile Mammogram

Mobile Mammogram Unit comes to MHA once per year. Free Mammograms are provided for those residents without health insurance.

Adult Activities

Residents come for a time of fellowship, bingo, cookouts, dances, day trips or special parties twice monthly. Most activities are held in the John R. Johnson Community Room at 815 Tulip Street.

Children Activities

Resident children are encouraged to join in parties and day trips.

Resident Assistance

Morristown Housing Authority provides light housekeeping, bill paying, grocery shopping, and scheduling of doctor's appointments for those in need of these services.

Commodities/Assistance

Senior and disabled residents may receive in-home delivery of commodities, energy assistance, and farmer's market vouchers.
